Commander's Corner - November 2024
Hello Comrades,
I would like to thank all of the members who volunteered this month. We picked up the flags from the cemeteries on Oct 12 and those who participated stated how quick it went this year as opposed to the prior years. I believe that was because we had more people involved. Greatly appreciated.
The Early Bird Dinner was held on Oct 19th. Approximately 70 members attended this great opportunity to interact with fellow members.

Happy Veterans Day and a Happy Thanksgiving to our Legion Post 574 Family. How time flies, here we are starting the Holiday season. Is everyone ready? I’m barely over Halloween and here comes two of my favorite days, one that is a food feast and the other a celebration of how we are still a free Nation. And also an Election Day!! I hope everybody was able to vote on November 5th, the veterans we celebrate are the reason we can vote, always remember.

Treasurer's Corner - November 2024
Hello All!
Just a quick update on our General account. We’ve had some hard times recently with insurance bills, taxes, etc., that had left our balance quite low. The cost of everything, as you all know, has gotten higher. I would like to see our account balance be much higher so that we can afford things in the future.
One of the original ideas when we first obtained the American Legion sign out front was for local businesses to advertise on it.

Greetings All,
I would like to start off with a warm hello to all members of Legion Post 574. I would like to convey to everyone my objective and desire for the post this year is “COMUNICATION WITH OUT WALLS”. We started off with an invitation to all entities to sit in with our E-Board. This should eliminate the delay in information getting to all members quickly without the possibility of inaccurate information being relayed.

Hello Squadron 574 and Legion Post 574 Family, how is everyone doing? October is here, already! Leaves are falling and the raking has begun. If there is a veteran in need of assistance with any type of yard work, lend them a hand. If you can’t, contact someone in our community that may be able to help. Here at the SAL Squadron 574, we have some able members that will help out when needed.

Greetings Riders and Legion family. It was a pretty slow month however some members supported Veterans MC for their ride, We also we attended the Black Creek Riders event and attended three funeral Escorts.
This month of October on the 11th I am asking all Riders who are available to come to the Legion at 1pm to escort Bob Beveridge to Saratoga National Cemetery. Bob was a charter member of the riders and he also is the Dad to our Friday mixologist Jenna Duffy.

An American October: The Whiskey Rebellion
In October of 1794 George Washington rode at the head of a military force to western Pennsylvania seeking to squash violent opposition to new taxes imposed by the federal government. The tale of this conflict mirrors the history (and perhaps future) of the bold, reckless experiment called the United States of America.
By the late 1780s the states and federal government had accumulated a staggeringly large debt from the Revolutionary War.
