Auxiliary Corner - April 2024
Happy Spring Everyone!
Well, March came in like a lamb and is most definitely going out like a lion. I hope you are all safe and healthy after clearing all that snow! Hopefully, that is the end of it, and we can move on to better weather.
March events were certainly successful. I would like to thank all my members and non-members of the Auxiliary that helped at the Birthday dinner. HUGE Congratulations go out two of our members. Pat Tebordo, recipient of The Betty Fowler Memorial Poppy award and Danielle Haxstun who was chosen as Unit Member of the Year. As well as all of our members, you ladies are much appreciated!
Our Washington County Auxiliary meeting was held at our post on March 21st. Thank you to those of you that attended. It was a good turnout for our auxiliary.
Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate for our Basket Raffle which was scheduled for the same day as our major snow dump! We have rescheduled the Basket Raffle to April 6th from 10am to 2pm. Thank you all for understanding the need to change the date. There is still time so if you would like to donate a basket, please let us know. Your participation will be much appreciated.
Now April is upon us, and it is going to be a busy month! Our auxiliary meeting will be held on April 2nd and will be nomination night. If you have anyone that you would like to nominate for an office, now is the time to do so. We will be voting in May and will take nominations up to the day of elections. If you would like to nominate someone for office, please contact Michelle Duprey or any one of our officers: (Dawn Breault, Stephanie Lancette, Cynthia Nevins, or myself).
- April 11th will be the National Commanders Visitation dinner in Saratoga.
- April 13th will be the dinner at our post of the incoming officers of Department and Detachment. This dinner will be sponsored by the Sons.
- April 20th will be the Walkathon – Please pick your sponsor packets up in the lounge! Let’s make this a great event.
Our Bingo attendance continues to climb. The Ladies in the Kitchen are doing a wonderful job keeping up with the demand. Please be patient as we have had quite the increase and it gets busy!
Membership is hanging strong at 92 percent. Let’s push it over 100 this month! Please remind everyone to get their dues in if they haven’t paid yet!
With much appreciation,
Julie Montello
