Auxiliary Corner - January 2025
Greetings to all,
A very busy December has come and gone and I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
I would like to thank all members who attended the Pearl Harbor celebration on December 7th.
December 8th was a very successful Breakfast with Santa. With over 400 community and Legion Family members in attendance, we were able to put a smile on approximately 150 children. The amount of work that goes into this extraordinary event is amazing. Each and every one of you that volunteered their time and donated to our event is very much appreciated. It takes months of preparation for this event and it does not go un noticed. We truly are an amazing family and I thank you all for everything you put into it.
Again, this year, the Auxiliary was able to partner with the Son’s to provide four families a wonderful Christmas. Thank you to everyone that was involved in this. A special thank you to Brian, Erica and Kate Vogel for all of the time and energy they put into making sure these families have a wonderful Christmas. We also were able to help one of our own Legion Family members. I am very proud of how everyone came together when one of our own was in a time of need. The words “Thank You” doesn’t even begin to describe what we all do.
With the holidays behind us, it is now time to start the preparation to bring the Vietnam Traveling Memorial wall to our Legion in July. Our first meeting will be immediately following the house meeting on January 14th. Attendance for anyone that signed up to be on the committee for this event would be appreciated.
Finally, on a very sad note, Auxiliary Unit 574, along with the Legion family has been left with a huge void in the heart of our organization. Past Auxiliary Unit 574 President, Gloria Cameron has passed away. Gloria and her husband, Past Post Commander, Mike Cameron were very big supporters of our Legion Family.

Gloria Cameron
Those of us who knew Gloria will forever remember all the guidance she gave to make this Auxiliary successful. Her kind words of support with everything we do will stay with us always. May you Rest in Peace Gloria and thank you for everything. You will be forever missed.
Please keep the Cameron family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this very difficult time.
Respectfully,
Julie Montello, Auxiliary President
