Auxiliary Corner - May 2025
Happy Spring Everyone!
Finally, some nice weather is on the way! We are about to get remarkably busy. We have some exciting projects in the works. First, I would like to thank everyone that came out and supported our basket raffle that was held on April 6. We were able to raise over $4000 to benefit our auxiliary programs.
This month is the election month. Elections will be held at our monthly meeting scheduled for May 6, 2025. If you know anyone that is interested in running for office, please have them attend that meeting as we will be taking nominations from the floor prior to voting. PLEASE NOTE: You must have your dues paid current and be in possession of your membership card to vote.
Our membership is now at 94% paid with a handful outstanding. Please remind everyone about dues.
As we all know, the Vietnam Traveling memorial wall will be coming July 24-28. We still need volunteers to read names. We have set up a QR code (see page 12) that will direct you to the sign-up page. From there, you can choose your date and time slot. Times are set up in 30-minute increments. You may choose more than one time slot if you wish. Our May meeting will be May 4th at 10am due to Mother’s Day being the same day as breakfast. The June meeting will go back to being the second Sunday at noon. In July we will have two meetings prior to the wall arriving. Keep an eye on social media and the lounge sign for those dates. I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered their time, submitted donations and ads for our program book. This event would not be possible without all the amazing support we have received from everyone.
EXCITING NEWS COMING IN SEPTEMBER!!

Our Auxiliary is in the planning stages of a new program to benefit our Veterans in need.
“OPERATION FULL PLATE” A VETERAN FOOD PROGRAM
This program is designed to help our veterans that are either homeless or live alone and cannot get out on their own. The program will consist of six monthly premade meals and a small bag of non- perishable items. There will be deliveries twice a month (3 meals each time) to the veteran’s home.
We will be starting a collection of non-perishable items as we grow closer to the kick-off of this program. More information will be forthcoming. Please email ala574hf@yahoo.com if you have any questions or would like to volunteer or donate to our program.
Have a wonderful month and thank you all for everything you do! You are ALL very much appreciated!
All the Best,
Julie Montello, President
