Auxiliary Corner - October 2024
Happy Fall Everyone,
As we wind down summer, things are getting busy for the Auxiliary.
I want to begin by thanking everyone that attended the visitation dinner. The Auxiliary did an excellent job decorating and preparing lunch and dinner for our leadership. Thank you to June Gaulin, Dawn Palmer and Stephanie Lancette for decorating for the dinner. A HUGE thank you to the following members that helped prepare lunch as well as dinner and clean up: June Gaulin, Danielle Breault, Pat Tebordo, Michele Nevins, Kate Goodness, Danielle Haxstun and Colleen Rich. Together we had an amazing team of women that worked well together to prepare and serve our honored guests. Thank you, Ladies, you did a wonderful job!
October 27 will be the Halloween event “Nightmare on Pearl St”. We hope you can all join us for a fun-filled family event.
November 17th will be our Holiday basket raffle. Get your baskets ready! For more information or to donate a basket, please see Danielle Haxstun. Look for the flyer in this month’s newsletter.
We are all busy with our preparations for Breakfast with Santa. Our theme this year is Rudolph and there are sure to be some surprises in store. Each year our Breakfast gets bigger and bigger. This year we will be having some distinguished guests from District joining us. It is sure to be amazing as always.
Our Kitchen staff for Bingo is doing a fantastic job as always. Thank you to all who support our kitchen at Bingo. On a side note, PLEASE, if you are not working in the kitchen during bingo, please refrain from entering the kitchen. It gets too crowded and disrupts the Ladies while they try to serve our patrons. Also, with all the hot foods being passed, we do not want anyone to get hurt because they are in the way. We appreciate the support you all give us, but we want everyone to be safe also, so please stay out of the kitchen unless you are working.
Membership dues are slowly coming in. As of this writing, we have 45 paid members bringing us to 27% membership. Please get your membership payments in. The cost of dues is $30. Early Bird dinner will be on October 19th. Please have your dues paid by October 1st to qualify as an “early bird”.
We will have a committee together very soon to start working on preparations for the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall arrival. The wall will be at our post from July 24 through July 28th, 2025. This will take a lot of time to put together, so we want to start soon.
Please make sure all your volunteer hours are turned in by our first meeting in October so reports can be prepared. This is especially important. Our volunteer hours are now worth $33.49 per hour. The hours are submitted to Congress, who use the numbers to consider funding for veterans. Together, we make a difference! Our next meeting will be on October 1st at 6pm. Hope to see you all there!
Thank you for all you do!
Respectfully,
Julie Montello, Auxiliary President
