Commander's Corner - May 2024
Greetings from the Commander
First, I would like to thank the Legion family for representing Post 574 at the National Commander’s Dinner. We had 18 family members attend. We donated $500 from our Post to the Commander’s project. Thank you to everyone that bought a 50/50 ticket for the Legion, and to Dana Warren for selling them. Congratulations to the Auxiliary on the success of their basket raffle. They were able to raise $3700 for Veteran Programs. Big Shout out to everyone involved with the Walkathon. You all made it successful again this year. Thank you to the Son’s for sponsoring the 4th district dinner for incoming officers. A job well done!
May is the election of new Officers for all entities. When placing your vote, please elect the person who can do the job best for all officers. For anyone that wishes to run for office, please contact Larry Pratt or Joe Bernard. The election box for the Legion will be in the lounge for write in ballots for those who can not be at the election. Ballots will be by the box for you to fill out. When the new officers are elected for all entities, let’s continue to work as a team as we do now.
Bingo is still looking for volunteers. Contact Mike Wheeler if you are interested. Schedule is flexible.
Reminder to anyone that has not paid their dues, please send that in ASAP. We are lacking 20 members to be at 100% membership. Contact Mike Wheeler to pay your dues. Let’s make 100% by Dept Convention in August.
Upcoming events:
Mother’s Day Breakfast – May 12
Memorial Day Parade - May 27 – We are looking for people with ideas for a float. If anyone is interested in that, please contact me. The schedule has been released.
Please continue to Volunteer. Members involvement is so important for our events to be successful.
The Legion, and myself thank all of the entities for their hard work and contributions to make our programs work.
Respectfully,
Your Commander
Larry Montello
