Sons Corner - April 2026
Greeting Squadron and Legion Post 574 Family!
Spring is almost here. Let’s recap what happened in March. We had lots of stuff going on. First want to say thank you to our kitchen crew for your hard work with the two big dinners we had this past month. The Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend dinner and the Birthday Dinner the following weekend.
Let’s talk about the birthday dinner. What a huge turnout we had for the birthday dinner. Thank you to everyone that helped put this birthday dinner on to make it such a successful day. As always, each year, Sons do a variety of different awards like Years of Membership, certificates of appreciation, Son of the Year award and Commander Choice Award.
This year Son of the Year award was given to Mickey Barber, and the Commander Choice award was given to Dan Lancette. Also at the birthday dinner, as a SAL Squadron we promoted John Maluaccio to Master Sergeant at Arms and with this promotion we made him a life member. Congrats!
Membership Update – As of March 17th, we are at 115.13% paid for 2026! We are just down to 4 members left that have not paid for 2026. We are almost there.
Its Walk-a-Thon Season! Walk-a-Thon Packets are ready in the lounge! If any questions, please reach out to me or Walk-a-Thon chairperson Dan Lancette.
With spring around the corner, pavilion renovation will be resuming shortly. We are going to need help with volunteers when we get started up again! Keep in contact with Dan Lancette, Dan Nolin and or myself for any updates on the pavilion and when volunteers are needed.
